Accoya
Accoya is our first choice timber for all exterior windows and doors. Produced by taking sustainable raw timber and subjecting it to an acetylation process. This process alters the timber at a cellular level, leaving a product that has lost the ability to absorb moisture. This dramatically enhances its durability and performance.
- Exceptional dimensional stability ensures your doors and windows stay perfectly aligned for years to come.
- Rot-resistant and suitable for coastal area.
- Aesthetically pleasing as it machines up well and paint adheres extremely well.
Blackbutt Timber
The natural density of this timber offers a level of fire resistance up to bushfire attack level 29 (BAL29), therefore making it more suitable for rural locations in Victoria.
- Colours range from golden yellow to pale brown, sometimes with a pinkish hue. Can be painted or stained.
- Termite resistant.
Red Grandis/Rose Gum
Red Grandis is a popular hardwood that is grown in sustainable plantations. Although this timber can be used for exterior applications, we prefer to use it for internal joinery due to its reduced density. As a timber that is sustainably grown, Red Grandis is largely free from defects such as knots, shakes. This allows for a more precise machining and a cleaner finish to be achieved.
Available in colours ranging from red to pink to almost white this timber can be stained or painted to achieve your desired finish.
Glass
One of the most important and often overlooked aspects of producing high-performing quality windows and doors is the glass.
As the drive to increase sustainability and efficiency increases year on year, the selection of the right type of glass for your new home or renovation should not be overlooked. Timber windows fitted with draft seals and double-glazed units are extremely thermally efficient and have the potential to save you a significant amount of money via reduced heating and cooling costs. Another factor often overlooked when considering what type of glass to specify is noise. There is a range of glass to help reduce noise without compromising on performance.
Depending on the location and position of the property, we can recommend the most suitable type of glass.
